Georgia Ilene Creanza (née Roberts), 91, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 24th ,2017 Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Friday, December 29 from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Saint Genevieve's R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ at 10 AM. Visitation Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Georgia was born in Ashland, KY , she had many lifelong friends like Rose Salzmann who she considered a part of her extended family. Georgia's crown of silver hair tended to for over 50 years by her friend and hairstylist "Mr. Jack" made her easy to spot in a crowd. Georgia was a long time parishioner and volunteer at Sacred Heart Church and later at Our Lady of Fatima, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Churches. She was a member of the Rosarians, Womens Auxiliuary and the 50 Plus Club all at Sacred Heart Church, Elizabeth. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Immaculate Conception Church in Elizabeth, for many years before retiring. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas and her loving children: Perna Lipke and George Edward Creanza. She is survived by her sons: Nicholas and his wife Grace Creanza and Thomas and his wife Suzanne, Her daughter Donna and her husband Thomas Sulivan, her brother William and his wife Eileen Georgia is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Brian Baldwin, Jacqueline Sullivan, Regina Brophy, Nicole Creanza, Christine Piltin, Thomas Creanza, and Thomas Sullivan, as also their spouses and family including seven great grandchildren.
