Obituary of Stanley M. Zielinski
Stanley M. Zielinski, 73, passed away peacefully in Overlook Hospital after a short illness on July 29. 2017. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Zielinski, to whom he was married for almost 50 years. Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 2 at St. Adalbert R.C. Church, Elizabeth at 10:00 AM. Visitation Tuesday 3-7 PM at August F Schmidt Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, Stanley “Stas” spent most of his life in Elizabeth and Linden. He was a veteran of the New Jersey National Guard. Stas had a very successful career as a carpenter, cabinet maker, woodworker and handyman. He also owned and ran a successful window cleaning business for many years. He was skilled in all types of home, auto and boat repairs.
Stas was a dedicated leader of the Boy Scouts of America in Linden for many years shaping the lives of young men. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, gardening and was an avid fisherman. He and his wife, Charlotte, loved to travel on their boat “Wahoo II” and spent countless hours with friends and family on the water. Stas rose to the rank of Commodore at his yacht club, Robbins Reef, in Bayonne, New Jersey just as his father did. He loved his dogs, country and western music, dancing and his St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his sister Barbara “Bobbi” Roseberry (Mike), his brother Michael Zielinski, (Deborah), brothers-in-law Thomas (Lynn) and Joseph Kelly (Lucy), as well as 6 nephews and nieces, numerous cousins and friends. They will all miss his kindness, generosity, good humor, spirit and love of life. Stas was a perfect gentlemen. He was predeceased by his parents Boleslaw and Helen (Gilbert) and his nephew Stephen Roseberry.
