Obituary of Maria L. Cardoso

Maria Lucilia Cardoso, 89, died on Saturday at Overlook Hospital, Summit. She was born in Vila Boa Do Mondego, Portugal & came to this country in 1955 settling in Elizabeth. She was a homemaker, Mother, seamstress & Cafeteria Worker for the Elizabeth Public Schools for over 10 years. She liked gardening, cooking & homemaking. Visiting Friday 9-11 AM at August F. Schmidt Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth. A service will be held at the chapel in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Newark before burial. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory to Alzheimer Association & American Heart Association would be appreciated. Maria is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lynn Marie, Husband, William Sr., Mother, Emilia & Father Mateus. She is survived by her devoted son William Cardoso Jr., of Elizabeth. 3 sisters, Manuela Oliveira of Union, Candida Lopes of Swedesboro & Carma Carnaxide of Merrit Island, Florida. Sister-in-law Marie Wagner Cardoso of Tuscon, AZ & Margaret Cardoso of Kenilworth. Nieces & Nephews, Victor Oliveira, Richard Lopes, Jason Lopes, Grace Carnaxide, Cindy Malminn, Suzanne Beaucage, Suzanne Mendes, Christopher Cardoso & Perry Cardoso.
