Obituary of Amilcar R. Rodrigues

Amilcar R. Rodrigues, 83 of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on March 24th, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center. Amilcar was born on October 15th, 1939 to parents Elisa Laura Ribeiro and Noemio Rodrigues in Guarda, Portugal. Amilcar study in high school in Portugal and start working in 1960 as a Legal Assistant for Attorney Dr. Bigote in his native Guarda, Portugal and then as General Manager for Carpet Manufacturer in 1969 also in Guarda, Portugal. In 1969, he met the love of his life, Encarnacao de Almeida in Guarda, Portugal where they welcomed their son Mario Rodrigues, in 1970. Amilcar left Portugal in 1972 with his young Family to begin a new start in The United States and settled in Elizabeth, NJ. He worked various jobs and settled as Import Car Driver for North East Marine Terminal, Bayonne, NJ for approximately 25 years. He always considered his family to be his greatest achievement and went above and beyond to provide for them. Amilcar is surviving by his loving wife, Sao Rodrigues; his son, Mario L. Rodrigues; and other family members as well as his brother, Jose Rodrigues, sister, Dulcinea de Oliveira and Assuncao Rodrigues. Amilcar is predeceased by his mother Elisa Laura Ribeiro Rodrigues and father Noemio Rodrigues and sisters Celeste Ribeiro Rodrigues, Maria Emilia Rodrigues Damaso and brother Fernando Rodrigues. He was passionate about soccer and was also a big fan of his Sporting Club of Portugal. Amilcar was an amazing and devoted husband, father, son, uncle, and friend. He was a pillar of unconditional love and guidance, and instilled invaluable life lessons that will live on with us forever.
