Obituary of Herminio De Jesus Rodrigues

Herminio Rodrigues, 81 of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on March 15th, 2023 while he was sleeping. Herminio was born on December 26th, 1941 to parents Luzia Nazaré De Jesus and Herminio Morgado Rodrigues in Vale Covo, Portugal. Herminio study his high school in Portugal and start working taking care of his family farms. Herminio left Portugal to work in construction in The United States. He met the love of his life, Lourdes in New York where the two welcomed their pride and joy, Herman, in 1976. Years later, they moved to Elizabeth, NJ, where they purchased their forever home. He always considered his family to be his greatest achievement and went above and beyond to provide for them. Herminio is surviving by his loving wife, Lourdes Rodrigues; his son, Herman Rodrigues; his two sisters, Maria Jesuina Rodrigues and Rita Nicolau Rodrigues; his grandchildren, Katie Rodrigues and Nicholas Rodrigues; and daughter in law, Johanna Rodrigues. Herminio is predeceased by his mother Luzia Nazaré De Jesus and father Herminio Morgado Rodrigues and brother Joaquim Herminio Rodrigues. An avid swimmer, Herminio was most at peace at his beach houses in Portugal and Florida where he enjoyed swimming. He was passionate about soccer and was also a big fan of his Sporting Club of Portugal. Herminio was an amazing and devoted husband, father, son, uncle, grandfather and friend. Herminio brought many laughs with his jokes and always put his family first. He was a pillar of unconditional love and guidance, and instilled invaluable life lessons that will live on with us forever.
