Obituary of Manuel Antonio Matos DaSilva

Manuel Antonio Matos DaSilva (aka Manny/Matos/Tonito), 58 years of age, of the City of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on December 14, 2022 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center of Neptune, NJ .
A mass service will be held at Our Lady Of Fatima R.C. Church in Elizabeth, NJ on December 22, 2022 at 2:00pm. Immediately followed by a memorial service to celebrate his life at August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home in Elizabeth, NJ from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Manny was born in Vale de Cambra, Portugal to Laura and Antonio da Silva on December 9, 1964. He went to high school in Vale de Cambra and went on to receive his diploma in the United States. He served two years in the Portuguese Army. After arriving to New Jersey he worked as a chef for six years. Followed by a dedicated career of 20+ years for the City of Elizabeth in the Department of Public Works. In his time there he impacted many lives and went on to become the Assistant Superintendent (aka "The Big Boss").
He enjoyed working all the time, spending time within the Portuguese Community, being around friends and family, helping others and teaching everyone's children Portuguese profanities (LOL).
Manny is survived by his daughters Tiffany Ann DaSilva and Hope Marie DaSilva. His granddaughter Angelie Rose Morales. His fiancé Fatima Pereira, her two children, Sonia and Stephanie and six grandchildren. And his brothers and sister; Jose (Ze), Paulo and Amparo Matos.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Nikki Marie DaSilva and parents Laura and Antonio da Silva.
