Obituary of Jean Coop

Jean Coop, 76, of Union NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5th, 2022, at her home surrounded by her children. Jean, daughter of the late Sebastian D'Arpa and the late Jean DeLeo D'Arpa, was born on December 2, 1945 and raised in Newark, NJ. She spent her work life assisting others as a crossing guard for the City of Elizabeth, cashier for Alexian Brothers Hospital, in the admitting office of Elizabeth General Hospital, and a school bus driver for Elizabeth Board of Education, where she retired from in 2013. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed relaxing at the beach, shopping with her sisters, and being a loving and supportive mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jean is survived by her three brothers, Joseph D'Arpa of Bayville NJ, Frank D'Arpa of Toms River NJ, and Sebastian D'Arpa of Union NJ. Two daughters, Susanne Zebro and her husband Mark of Stewartstown PA and Joan Brennan and her husband Robert of Roselle Park NJ. Two sons, Robert Coop and his wife Christine of North Plainfield NJ and Donald Coop of Illinois. Her nine grandchildren: Gabriel, Samantha, Mark, Andrew, Sarah, Robert, Savannah, Jonathan, and William. Her five great-grandchildren: Peyton, Landry, Vincent, Julian, and Logan. And her kitty, April. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband William R. Coop. Her two brothers Salvatore and Carl D'Arpa. And four sisters, Concetta (Nancy) Cannady, Roseann Palmieri, Marie D'Arpa, and Elizabeth Dupree. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Haven Hospice would be appreciated.
