Obituary of Joaquim Eduardo Carvalho Horta

Joaquim Eduardo Carvalho Horta, age 69, passed away on September 27th, 2022, peacefully at home with his loving family. He was proceeded by his mother, Gracinda Carvalho Horta, his father Joaquim Horta & his second wife Emilia Horta. He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Odete Da Costa Horta & his living daughter Leslie Horta Bargo & son-in-law Jose Bargo. Jack was also survived by his mother-in-law Angelina Bernardo, his brother in-law Manny Da Costa & his wife Cindy. His sister-in-law Maria Rosenstock & husband Terry. Many loving cousins, nephews, niece & godchildren. Jack was born in Nov. 14, 1952, in Serra Do Bouro, Calda da Rainha, Portugal. He came to the USA at the age of 7. Jack spent most of his life helping those around him, especially the youth. He was one of the first members of the New Youth@ PISC & was the second president of the youth throughout the years he was vice president of the PISC & lately the president in 2014 & 2015. Jack was also one of the first fathers to be a part of the parents committee for the Girls Scouts of Lady of Fatima Church. He was also vice president of Sociedade Cruzades De Fatima & a member of the Portugal Day Committee. Jack loved fishing, the flea markets, fixing old watches & spending time at his loved PISC. As per Jack's wish, in lieu of flowers make a donation to Our Lady of Fatima Girl Scouts for Gold/Silver Award in his memory. Please make checks payable to GSHNJ Troop 40608.
