Obituary of Manuel Esteves Vieira

Manuel Esteves Vieira, age 72, a longtime resident of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Spring Hills Post Acute in Livingston, NJ. Manuel was born on November 17, 1949 to Albertina Esteves and Jose Vieira in Anelhe, Chaves, Portugal.  He immigrated to the United States in October 1973 then went back to Portugal in May 1975 to marry his beautiful bride and bring her to the United States to build a life together. He was employed as a factory worker for Alcan Aluminum Products in Union, NJ for a few years. Then in April 1989 he went to work for Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum in Colonia, NJ as a Laborer for about 27 years, where he retired from in November 2015. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria Margarida Vieira; a son Jose Rafael Vieira and his wife, Rosa Vieira; a daughter Helena Maria Vieira and her husband, Octavio Escada; and his 5 grandchildren, Olivia & Tiago Vieira and Leonidas, Thaddeus, & Matthias Escada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses in his honor, at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
