Obituary of Nelson Francisco Marques

Nelson Francisco Marques of Rahway, New Jersey, passed away, surrounded by his family, on September 2, 2022. Nelson was born on August 23, 1938 to Maria de Jesus Monteiro Marques and Adelino Francisco Marques in Senhorim, Portugal.  He studied in Senhorim and chose the Auto Body Shop profession.  He got married in 1963 and immigrated to the United States in 1972, where he created a beautiful life for his family.  He was the co-owner of J&N Auto Body, was a parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima Church and was proud member of the Elizabeth Portuguese Club, in Elizabeth, NJ.   He is survived by his wife, Madalena Marques, his 2 daughters Zaida Gonzalez (married to Michael Gonzalez) and Tina Coelho (married to Levi Coelho), and his 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Dylan and Gianna.  His is also survived by his brother, Avelino Marques (married to Antonieta Marques), his niece Michelle Oliveira (married to Mario Oliveira), her 2 children, Matthew and Alexis, his nephew, Carlos dos Santos (married to Elsa Vitorino) and his son David.  Nelson is predeceased by 2 sisters, Aurelia and Ilda, and by a brother, Alfredo.   Nelson was a simple, humble gentleman that would do anything for his loved ones.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses in his honor, at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
