Maria Iria, 94, of Elizabeth died on Thursday at Elmora Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, Elizabeth. Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral Monday, August 1, from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 8:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 9:00 AM. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visiting Sunday 5-7 PM.
Maria was born in Loule, Portugal & came to this country many years ago settling in Elizabeth. She was employed as a factory worker in Elizabeth for many years before retiring. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth.
She is predeceased by her husband Jose V. Iria who died in 2015. Maria is survived by a son, Leo Iria & his wife Patricia of Union. A Daughter, Maria Valentina Casanova & her husband Victor of Elizabeth. A sister, Maria Inacio of Elizabeth.
Grandmother of Jessica Michelle Casanova.
