Belchior G. Alves, 76, of Linden, died on Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway. Friends & Family are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, July 26, from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 10:00 AM. Entombment Rosedale Memorial Park. Visiting Monday 4-8 PM.
Belchior was born in Gondomil, Portugal & came to this country in 1963 settling in Elizabeth then moved to Linden 39 years ago. He was a self-employed construction owner of BGA & Sons, Linden for many years before retiring 16 years ago. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth.
Belchior is predeceased by a son, Joseph D. Alves, 2 brothers, Jose Alves & Manuel Alves.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Fernanda Figueiredo Alves. A son George Alves of Linden, a brother Fernando Alves & his wife Laurinda of Palm Coast, FL. & a sister Maria Silva & her husband Baldino of South River.
