Obituary of Arnold C. Samuelsen

Arnold Christian Samuelsen a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, NJ (same house for 78 years) was born on a cold snowy icy February 11, 1936 to Christian and Anne (Gundersen) Samuelsen and passed away on April 26, 2022 after a brief illness. He is survived by a brother Einar Samuelsen of Houston, TX, Nieces Chandra Samuelsen of Houston, TX and Tina (Kurt) Bauer of Rapid City, SD Nephew Scott (Nikki) Samuelsen of Houston, TX, Great Nieces Haley and Hannah Samuelsen of Houston, TX and Uncle of Pamela Blankenship & Raymond O’ Brien, companion Joan Udseth of Guthrie Center, IA. Arnold graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school (1954) and Upsala College (1958), served in the United States Army (1960-1962). He was a sports reporter for the Elizabeth Daily Journal & the New York Post. He loved to travel with several journeys to the family homestead in Grimstad, Norway & various trips in the United States. He was an avid student of Genealogy & traced his family back 13 generations to the early 1500’s in Norway. Graveside services at Evergreen Cemetery (Hillside, NJ) on May 5, 2022 at 1:30 PM.
