Mario C. Fernandes, 89, of Kenilworth, died on Thursday at Overlook Hospital, Summit. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal & came to this country in 1960 settling in Elizabeth where he lived for many years before moving to Kenilworth a few years ago. He was a baker for Iberia Bakery, Elizabeth from 1960 to 1994 when he retired. Mario was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth.
Mario is predeceased by his wife of 64 years Palmira S. da Silva Fernandes who died in 2020. He is survived by his son Joe Fernandes & his wife Maria of Kenilworth. A daughter, Linda Bailis & her husband David of Bethlehem, Pa. Grandfather of David Fernandes, Kevin Fernandes, Ryan Bailis,
Kaitlyn Bailis & Sean Bailis.
