Obituary of Manuel F. Carrete

Manuel F Carrete 80, of Elizabeth died on Sunday at his home. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 4 at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 10 AM. Manuel was born in Sangalhos, Portugal where he worked as a Salesman and Bicycle Mechanic. One year he was a Lead Mechanic for hometown cycling team during Tour of Portugal. Came to this country in 1969 settling in Elizabeth. He was employed at US Metals as a processor, and later as a Machine Operator for Phelps Dodge Corp., Elizabeth for many years before retiring in 2007. Manuel is survived by his wife of 56 years Sara Rodrigues Carrete. 2 Sons, Luis Carrete & Antonio Carrete & his wife Susana both sons of Howell. A Daughter Liliana Dantas & her husband Paulo of Union. A Sister, Herminia Carrete of Portugal. 5 Grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kristen & Jason Carrete, Jaxon & Katherine Dantas. In Lieu of flowers donation would be appreciated to American Heart Association.
