Alvaro Assunção Nogueira (Al) September 10, 1940 - January 4, 2022. Born in Macieira de Sarnes, Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal Beloved husband of 45 years, loving father of four, grandfather to six, uncle to five and brother to one has passed away at the age of 81 on January 4, 2022. Due to complications of Covid 19. Al had a few passions in life. Being with friends and family, playing pool and fixing everyone's cars. He was a member of many billiard associations. He competed and won many tournaments. He was also a member of the Portuguese instructive social club in Elizabeth , NJ. Where he spent some of his leisure time with friends. Al was a simple man of few words but when he spoke you knew you were receiving a pearl of wisdom. He loved having good conversations and would make even a stranger feel as if they were a long time friend. On a given weekend you would find Al in his backyard working on someone's car or enjoying a meal with his wife at a diner.Someways you would even find him playing a game of pool or Ping pong at a family members house. A simple man that figured the true meaning of life. Al was known by many and loved by all. He lives on in all of us through the countless loving memories that he created for all of us.
