Obituary of Jose Miguel

Jose Miguel, 80, of Hillside died on Friday December 24 at Overlook Hospital, Summit. Relatives & Friend are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, December 29 from August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home,139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 8:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 9:00 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Newark. Visiting Tuesday 4-8 PM. Jose was born in Granja, Boticas, Portugal & came to this country in 1959 settling in Hillside. He was employed as a Crane Operator for US Metals, Carteret retiring in 1985 He later owned Costa Verde Bar Restaurant until 1994 in Elizabeth. He was the founder and first Scoutmaster of Troop 101, BSA at Our Lady of Fatima Church. He was an avid Soccer fan of FC Porto of Portugal. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth, Jose is survived by his wife of 56 years Maria Helena Jesus Santos Miguel, 2 sons Jose Carlos Miguel of Hillside & Victor Manuel Miguel & his wife Jennifer of Millington, Also survived by 4 Grandchildren Kelly, Bowie, Sophia and Olivia Miguel.
