Peter Paul Joseph Barcas passed away on Sunday, November 14th at the age of 95. Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, November 18 from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, Elizabeth at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden at 10:00 AM. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. He was the youngest child of Anna and John Barcas, who immigrated to the U.S. from Lithuania. Peter was born June 30th, 1926 in Elizabeth, NJ. He served in the Navy in WWII. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Charlotte McGowan who he was married to for 66 years, the love of his life. He is survived by his daughter Charlotte, granddaughters Nicole and Meagan, son Peter and grandsons Christopher, Brendan and Reilly. He worked at Esso, Elastic Stop Nut, and retired from the Springfield school system. Lovingly referred to as "Peapa", he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports and gardening.
