Idalina (Lina) Neves Amaral, 83, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on Sunday, September 26 in Kansas City, MO. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Friday, October 1 at 9:15 am from The August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Elizabeth. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 pm on Thursday, September 30. Lina was born in Valega, Ovar, Portugal and immigrated to the United States in 1967. She worked for Garylin Togs as a sewing machine operator for 25 years before retiring. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of Altar Rosary Society. Additionally, she was a member of the Portuguese American Instructive Social Club. She is predeceased by her husband, Cesar. She is survived by her children, Joseph of Monmouth Junction, NJ and Cristina and her husband Sergio of Kansas City, MO. Her five grandchildren, Stephanie, Melanie, Samantha, Matthew and Nicholas. She is survived by her sister, Adelaide of Holmdel, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider mass offerings or donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
