Antonio was born in Mesquitela-Celerico da Beira, Portugal & came to this country in 1970 settling in Elizabeth. He was employed as a machinist for Phelps Dodge, Elizabeth for over 36 years before retiring in 2006. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth & the Portuguese Instructive Social Club of Elizabeth.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria do Ceu Cardoso. A son, John Anthony Cardoso & his wife Michelle of Chatham. 2 Brothers, Artur Cardoso & his wife Odete of Union & Jose Cardoso of Elizabeth. A sister Helena Martins of Portugal. Grandfather of Emma Rose Cardoso & Ethan John Cardoso.
