Born in the Azores, Carlos lived in Newark and Elizabeth before moving to Port Reading 37 years ago.
Carlos retired 1n 1977 as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Housing Authority of the City of Elizabeth where he worked for 28 years.He was a member of the Azores Club of Newark and the Portuguese Instructive Social Club of Elizabeth. An active communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth serving as church Treasurer, CCD instructor, member of the church choirs, and the Knights of Columbus Chapter 11798 also at the church.
He was an Army Veteran serving from 1970-1975.
He is survived by his wife of 52 Years Cidalia Medeiros Riguinha two sons Carlos Riquinha and his wife Melissa of Flower Mound, Texas and Christopher Riquinha of E. Rutherford, NJ; a daughter Catia Riquinha and her fiancée Brian McGrath of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; a brother Louie Riquinha and a sister Sue Landry, both of Rhode Island five grandchildren Jeremy and Hope Ucciardi, Ethan and Gavin Riquinha and Joseph Guarino
