Adelia Alves (Marques) 92, of Manchester, did on Tuesday at her home in Manchester Twp.. Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral on Saturday, February 27, from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 8:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 9:00 AM. Entombment St. Gertrude Cemetery, Visiting Friday 4-8 PM. Adelia was born in Pipizios, Portugal & came to this country settling in Elizabeth then Rahway & Brick before moving to Manchester 9 years ago. She was employed as a Processor for Proctor & Gamble, Staten Island for eleven years before retiring 1988. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, & Old Portuguese Youth of Elizabeth. She is predeceased by her husband Gabriel J. Alves who died in 2009 & a Sister Dolores Silva. Survived by 3 sons, Kenneth Alves & his wife Paula of Marlboro, Gabriel Alves & his wife Monica of Whiting & Steven A. Alves & his wife Karen of Houston, Texas. A Daughter, Irene Rapolas & her husband Mike of Florida. 2 Sisters, Clara Goncalves of Colonia & Alda Sales of Linden. Grandmother of Six & Great Grandmother of 4.
