Obituary of Grace A. McLain

Miss Grace Aletta McLain (89) died peacefully at Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains on Tuesday, December 22nd.
Miss McLain was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth Until she moved to Union in 2005 when she wend to live at Schaefer Gardens. She was a Telephone Coordinator at The Singer Company for 32 years, was employed at the JL Hammett Company for 3 years and the Elizabeth Board of Education for 11 years, where she was a Supervisor of Accounts Payable until retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder, Financial Secretary, Benevolence Treasurer and Treasurer of the Healing Ministry. She was co=moderator of their Women's Association.
Miss McLain was a member of the Singer Musical Troupe, Singer Twenty-Five-year club, was a reporter on the Singer Observer and was a member of the Singer bowling, badminton and softball teams.
She had a poem published in The National Library of Poetry and was the author of 11 romantic novels.
Surviving is a niece Arlene T. McLain of Carrollton, Texas. Grace was the daughter of the late Robert B and Elizabeth Gunn McLain and the sister of the late Robert J and Irene F. McLain.
