Vito De Mattia, 100, of Union died on Tuesday at his home. Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to the funeral on Saturday, October 17 from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 8:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatma RC Church, Elizabeth at 9:00 AM. Entombment Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visiting Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
Vito was born in Bisaccia, Avellino Italy, he came to this country in 1954 settling in Elizabeth where he lived for many years before moving to Union several years ago. He was employed as a master tailor for the Hilton Manufacturing, Linden for many years before retiring.
He is predeceased by 2 Sisters, Carmela Chirichiello & Aurora Perrone. Three Brothers Francesco De Mattia, Giuseppe De Mattia & Gerardo De Mattia.
Vito is survived by his loving wife of 73 years Angela La Vecchia De Mattia of Union. His devoted children, son Angelo De Mattia & his wife Deborah of No. Brunswick. two Daughters, Rosetta Di Giorgio & her husband Carmine of Union & Phyllis Riccobono & her husband Anthony of Toms River. Cherished Grandfather of Vincent Di Giorgio, David Di Giorgio, Vito Di Giorgio, Christine De Mattia, Thomas De Mattia & his wife Nicole & Steven Riccobono. Great Grandfather of Madison Kwiatek, Vito De Mattia & Luca De Mattia.
