Acacio R. Marmelo died on Saturday at Center for Hope Hospice, Elizabeth.
Relative & Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 8:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 9:00 AM. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visiting Tuesday 4-8 PM.
Acacio was born in Linhares, Portugal & came to this country settling in Elizabeth in 1972.He was employed as a foreman, machine operator for Bessler Company, Linden for many years before retiring. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth. He served in the Portuguese Marine Corp for ten years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucia Almeida Marmelo. One son, Antonio Marmelo & his wife Dina Diaz-Marmelo of Rahway. Two Brothers, Sarafim & Joao Marmelo, two Sisters, Georgina & Adelaide Marmelo all in Portugal. Two Grandchildren, Katerina & Kassandra Marmelo.
