Fernando G. De Jesus, 38, of Scotch Plains died on Friday at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Relatives & Friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, December 24 from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 10:00 AM. Interment St Gertrude Cemetery.Visiting Monday 3 -9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Assn. would be appreciated. Fernando was born in Elizabeth lived in Scotch Plain all his life. He was employed as a Vice-president for Procurement for Custom Bandag Co, Linden, a family owned business. He graduated from Union County College, Cranford, also graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy,Wayne Pa., where he was inducted into the Society of the Golden Sword.He was a member of Azores Social & Sport Club of Newark., REACH of Our Lady of Fatima Church, member of Elizabeth Lions Club He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth and a member of the Parish Council He is survived by his beloved wife Suzanne Soares De Jesus of Scotch Plains, His daughters Lucia Isabel and Raquel Elizabeth DeJesus his parents, Fernando Martins De Jesus & Maria Elizabeth Tronco De Jesus of Scotch Plains, a sister Margareth De Jesus of Scotch Plains, 2 Nieces Else Rose De Jesus & Madeline Teresa De Jesus, Father in-law Vitor Soares, Mother in-law Maria Isabel Soares of Clark, & Sister-in-law Katherine Soares of Clark. He is predeceased by his sister Marsea Fatima De Jesus, who died in June 2019.
