Obituary of Fernando "Braga" Carmo

Fernando D. "Braga" Carmo, 70, Of Metuchen died on Tuesday at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Ctr, Edison.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth on Monday July 8 at 8:15AM Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth at 9AM Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Linden

Born in Braga, Portugal he came to this country and Elizabeth in 1977 moving to Metuchen in 1989.

He owned and operated the Braga Driving School, Second St, Elizabeth with his son Fernando Carmo, Jr. He served in the Portuguese Commandos.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Elizabeth He is survived by his wife of 48 years Rosa DeOliveira Carmo his son Fernando D. Carmo Jr. of Metuchen    a daughter Rosa DoCarmo/ Walters and her husband Ron of Fords; three brothers  Francisco Carmo of Parsippany, NJ, and Jose Dias Pereira and Jose Maria Dias Pereira Carmo both of Portugal; a granddaughter Elonnie Emily Walters
